A Fresh Look and a New Chapter for Suzanne Bowers Photography

Hello friends, fellow photographers, and new visitors, welcome to the newly refreshed Suzanne Bowers Photography website!

After years of sharing my work online, I’ve recently made the move to a more blog-focused platform that allows me to connect in a deeper and more meaningful way. Social media is great for quick snapshots and thoughts, but I’ve found the character limits, and let’s be honest, the shrinking attention spans, a little limiting when I want to share the fuller story behind a photo or the heart behind a project. I’m excited to have a space where I can write freely and more fully.

This new site will continue to showcase my landscape and astrophotography, but it also opens the door to something I’ve been wanting to do for a while: write more intentionally about my work, my process, and the beauty of my adorable little corner of the universe here in West Virginia. I’ll also share tips, behind-the-scenes moments, and reflections on the creative life.

If you’re new here, I’m Suzanne Bowers, a photographer based in Jefferson County, West Virginia. I own two photography businesses: Suzanne Bowers Photography focuses on landscape and astrophotography, while Green Shade Photography, LLC serves families, couples, and businesses with portraiture, weddings, fashion, and branding work. I love both sides of this creative life, capturing the stillness of a star-filled sky and the joy of real, human connection.

When I’m not taking or editing photos, you’ll usually find me in my flower garden, traveling with my husband Chris and our labsky Willie, or involved in local arts and community work. I currently serve as president of the Jefferson County Photography Club, media manager for the Firehouse Gallery, and clerk at Charles Town Baptist Church. Life is full, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

If you have a special project in mind, whether it’s a commissioned print, custom work for your home or office, or a blank wall that needs a story, I’d love to hear from you. Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you’ll follow along as this next chapter unfolds.
